By downloading or using Edit Trail, you agree to these terms. The open-source CLI is licensed under the MIT License included with the software.

The tool

Edit Trail indexes edit metadata from supported sidecar formats. Editors change their schemas, and no parser can infer every editing state perfectly. Review important results against the source editor. Keep backups; the CLI is intended to read sidecars and does not modify them.

Supporter license

The optional Supporter license costs $19 USD as a one-time purchase. It unlocks the archive-audit recipe pack and supporter indicator on devices where you restore the token. It is not required for the CLI, data export, accessibility, privacy, or safety features. Do not publish or share a license token.

Payments and refunds

Sociobot/Dodo is the merchant of record. Checkout, taxes, receipts, and eligible refunds are handled by that service. A refunded, expired, or revoked license may stop verifying automatically.

No warranty

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the software and site are provided “as is,” without warranty. We are not liable for lost data, missed search results, or indirect damages. This does not limit rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes apply prospectively.
